Michael Bürgel is a seasoned mechanical engineer, technical designer, and entrepreneur with a wealth of experience. Throughout his career, he has showcased exceptional skills and a deep passion for navigating complex mechanical and automation production landscapes. Serving as a project leader, he has spearheaded the establishment of large-scale mass production facilities to meet the needs of international clients.
From the outset of his career, Michael immersed himself in the realm of holographic production methods, delving into the intricacies of embossed holograms and volume holographic optical elements. He played a pivotal role as a team member at Holtronic in the early 90s, later transitioning to HSM, where he contributed to groundbreaking projects involving large-format image holograms and portraits exposed through short-pulsed laser techniques.
His expertise extends to the development of replication processes and production lines tailored for the creation of high-quality embossed holograms and diffraction gratings, boasting structures at both micron and nanometer scales. Over the course of his professional journey, Michael has amassed profound knowledge of fundamental concepts and production methodologies related to thin films and photosensitive materials, with a special emphasis on UV-resins.
Michael's innovative prowess has led to the successful design and implementation of processes and mechanical setups across a diverse array of applications within the security printing industry, including notable contributions to the German Bundesdruckerei.
